From our Desks (and Candy Stash) to You! |

I’m going to share a little secret with you—most of us on the Envisioning Access team try to lead healthy lifestyles. But it is Halloween season, and I’ve noticed a few treats creeping into the office. My personal favorite (don’t judge!): candy corn. I know the nation’s sweet tooth usually leans toward baked goods, sour candies, or chocolate, but please—don’t touch my candy corn.
We kicked off October with a true treat of our own—the Envisioning Access Golf Classic at the beautiful Pinehills Golf Club in historic Plymouth, Massachusetts. The day brought together able-bodied and disabled golfers alike to highlight how accessibility can—and should—be part of every experience, from sports to work, education, and community life. It was wonderful to reconnect with long-time friends and make so many new ones.
As we continue to share our mission, we’re proud that more people are learning about how Envisioning Access collaborates with tech start-ups and universities to develop innovative assistive technology for individuals living with physical disabilities. Recently, DHR Global, a leading international executive search and leadership consulting firm, published a thoughtful piece on LinkedIn about our evolution as an organization. The article beautifully captured how our transformation positions us to meet the challenges faced by people with disabilities in today’s workplaces, schools, and communities. I hope you’ll take a moment to read it: Envisioning Access: A Nonprofit’s Bold Leap into the Future of Assistive Technology.
Looking ahead, I’m honored to be speaking in November as part of KMA Architecture & Accessibility’s speaker series. KMA’s work in accessible and inclusive design has transformed how buildings and spaces welcome all individuals. My remarks will focus on how Envisioning Access approaches accessibility from a technology perspective—expanding inclusion through digital and assistive innovation.
I’m excited by the progress we’re making and deeply grateful for your support. Together, we’re helping people with physical disabilities find new ways to work, pursue education, and stay connected. Your belief in our mission enables us to continue developing innovative solutions that promote independence, dignity, and inclusion for all. |

Rethinking Halloween: Opening Doors for Everyone
How small acts of accessibility make a big difference on Halloween night
Halloween brings out the best in community spirit—doorsteps lit up, children in costume, neighbors greeting each other with laughter and candy. But for many people with disabilities, what should be a night of fun can come with real challenges. Steps, uneven sidewalks, and cluttered paths can make participating difficult or even impossible.
At Envisioning Access, we believe that inclusion is built one thoughtful choice at a time. With a few small changes, every household can help make Halloween welcoming for everyone. |

It was a beautiful day for the
Envisioning Access Golf Classic! | |
|
What an incredible day on the course at the Envisioning Access Golf Classic at Pinehills Golf Club on October 2. Thanks to you, we raised more than $30,000 to support the work of Envisioning Access!
Congratulations to the winners of the day: First Place Team: Dylan Vaglica, Jake Pierce, Steve Rizzuto, and Kevin Lynch
Longest Drive: Steve Rizzuto Bruins Tickets on course raffle: Brian Davis
Beyond the great golf, it was inspiring to see leaders, advocates, and community members come together to drive change and expand access for people of all abilities. We had the opportunity to speak to the Massachusetts Cultural Council, Easterseals of Massachusetts, Smart Hygiene, and Voiceitt. And we got to watch/experiment with the gitas that Piaggio Fast Forward brought with them. If you have any questions about the work that any of these companies/organizations are doing with Envisioning Access, please do not hesitate to reach out—we would love to facilitate a conversation!
We are busy collecting photographs and memories from October 2 and are adding them to this album as we receive them. You can also find a great video highlighting the day's events here.
Thank you to all who participated and for helping to spread the word about Envisioning Access's work. Your generosity makes a difference! |
