A nationally respected leader and strategist, Hicks-Lundy brings more than a decade of experience advancing equity, innovation, and organizational impact across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.

Hicks-Lundy currently serves as Director of Government Personnel at Third Way, where she leads the Moderate Talent Pipeline, a national initiative focused on identifying and helping place diverse, pragmatic leaders in senior roles across Congress, advocacy organizations, political campaigns, and future presidential administrations. In this role, she oversees recruitment and strategic partnerships, with a focus on building durable leadership capacity and ensuring personnel decisions are made with intention.

“We are delighted to welcome Destine to our Board of Directors,” said Diane Nahabedian, Executive Director of Envisioning Access. “Her passion for advocacy and equity strengthens our mission to advance assistive technology that enables people with physical disabilities to work, learn, and fully engage in their communities.”

Prior to Third Way, Hicks-Lundy served in multiple senior roles in the Biden-Harris Administration, including White House Liaison at the U.S. Small Business Administration, Deputy White House Liaison at the Environmental Protection Agency, and Associate Director in the White House Office of Presidential Personnel. She also played a key role on the Biden-Harris Transition Team and previously led State Operations for the 2020 Biden-Harris campaign, managing regional staff, budgets, and compliance across multiple states.

Earlier in her career, Hicks-Lundy served as a Legislative Aide in the South Carolina House of Representatives and worked in the corporate social responsibility sector as the Internship Program Manager at Hypertherm Associates, where she advanced community investment and workforce access initiatives.

A former political appointee, Hicks-Lundy has built an extensive cross-sector network across the political and policy landscape, bringing experience across all levels of government, the corporate sector, and advocacy organizations to connect mission-driven leaders to consequential roles and work where decisions matter and outcomes endure.

Her leadership and service have been recognized with numerous honors, including Columbia Business Monthly’s Best & Brightest 35 and Under, the South Carolina Legislative Black Caucus Honorary Member Spotlight, Jack and Jill of America’s Presidential Legacy Award, and Columbia College’s Outstanding Young Alumni Award.

Hicks-Lundy is deeply passionate about the intersection of technology, philanthropy, and inclusion, and the role of innovation in expanding access and improving quality of life for historically underrepresented communities—values that closely align with Envisioning Access’s mission.
