Emergency Preparedness Video Series

Planning Ahead for Safety

At Envisioning Access, our mission is to support people living with physical disabilities and older adults in living life as they choose—safely, independently, and with confidence. Yet emergencies can present unique and serious risks for individuals who may have limited mobility, strength, or access to timely support. Preparation before an emergency happens can make all the difference.

Thanks to generous foundation support, Envisioning Access is addressing this need by launching a three-year series of short, easy-to-understand emergency preparedness videos. Designed specifically for people living with physical disabilities and older adults, these videos explain why having an emergency plan matters—and how to put one in place before a crisis occurs.

Our goal is simple but powerful: to provide practical, accessible information that helps people living with disabilities and older adults live, work, and learn with greater safety—and greater peace of mind.

Phase 1: Home Safety Emergency Preparedness

Part 1
Preparedness starts with awareness. In Part 1, we explore alert fatigue and why practicing your plan—even during false alarms—helps keep everyone safe.

Part 2
Preparedness isn’t one-size-fits-all. Part 2 of our series focuses on assessing real-world risks—your home, your mobility, your power needs, your people.

Part 3
Securing Your Home = Real Protection When It Counts. Part 3 is about action—not fear. Preparedness means strengthening what you already have, inside and out. Small steps today can protect your home, your life, and your neighbors.
