GIVE THE GIFT OF SPEECH
Imagine knowing exactly what you want to say—but not being understood. For people living with disabilities such as cerebral palsy, stroke, and trauma-induced speech impairments, that’s a daily reality.
What is the gift of speech? Most of us take it for granted. We open our mouths, and words flow—clear, precise, loud or soft — helping us connect, ask questions, and share who we are.
Meet Tripp
Meet Christopher “Tripp” Lyons, a senior Politics major at Fairfield University in Connecticut. Tripp has always been a successful student and is now a dedicated disability advocate. But his speech isn’t standard, and his previous communication methods have created barriers for him in school and beyond. Too often, people make assumptions based on how his words come out, mistaking his speech differences for a lack of intelligence. These assumptions create social barriers that Tripp must constantly navigate.
“Before, I had to type everything on my iPad,” Tripp says. “Now, with Voiceitt, I actually have a voice.”
Voiceitt is a breakthrough speech-recognition web-based application that helps people with speech impairments communicate naturally. It allows individuals to use speech-to-speech and speech-to-text, and provides accurate captions during video meetings.
Envisioning Access is proud to collaborate with The Babel Group, reseller of Voiceitt, to bring this life-changing technology to people who need it most. As Dr. Rachel Khasky-Levy, co-founder of The Babel Group and Speech-Language Pathologist, shares:

“Voiceitt has helped people with speech disabilities, regardless of diagnosis, achieve their communication goals. We’ve seen people obtain gainful employment, engage independently in their academics, and be more active in society because Voiceitt has given them the confidence and the means to communicate on their terms.”
A $600 donation provides one full Voiceitt license. Unfortunately, many individuals cannot afford this. That’s why Envisioning Access and The Babel Group are teaming up to raise funds so more people like Tripp can find their voice—and with it, greater independence and opportunity.
Will you help break down the financial barrier that keeps people from being heard?
Your gift—of any amount—can help give someone the gift of speech. Without the ability to communicate effectively, adults are often unable to pursue higher education, secure employment, or fully participate in their communities.
Every dollar helps someone take one step closer to having a voice like Tripp. Please consider making your most generous gift today and help ensure that no one is ever silenced by disability.
Thank you to our collaborative partners:
